Stains and lacquers

The stain sets the tone of the wood and keeps the grain visible. The lacquer covers the piece in a solid or metallic color.
There are 10 stains, 4 lacquers and 6 metallic lacquers. Lacquers come in matte (satin) or high gloss. The final tone is checked against the physical sample, following the factory’s guidelines.

6 optionsHow to check the tone
- 1st
Place the sample with the grain running in the same direction as the wood of the piece being compared.
- 2nd
Use light from above, more than 2 m from the piece, ideally cool white (6,500 K). Other light tones make the color hard to read.
- 3rd
Avoid flash, incandescent bulbs or colored light. Prefer cool white room light or daylight.
Care: samples and pieces should not be left in the sun or under incandescent light that heats the wood. Heated pigment oxidizes and changes tone. After use, store the samples away from light to keep the factory tone.
